We received over 240 applications, all worthy of recognition, such is the strength, depth and variety of the tourism and hospitality offer across our region. Annual classifications for designated bathing waters, as determined by Natural Resources Wales. Ninety-eight percent of designated bathing waters in Wales met stringent compliance standards this year โ with the vast majority achieving ‘excellent’ status. 78 of the 112 designated bathing waters across Wales have been classified as ‘excellent’ โ an increase of three sites when compared with 2024. A further 26 sites achieved ‘good’ status and 6 ‘satisfactory’. The bathing water classifications for the 2025 season have been provided by Natural Resources Wales (NRW) in accordance with the Bathing Water Regulations. Following strong sector engagement and a significant level of interest in Visit Wales’ Year of Croeso Weather Proofing fund, Visit Wales are launching a final, third phase to support medium-sized tourism businesses (50-250 employees).
