The North Wales based hospitality and leisure operator is set for further expansion in 2021, with enabling works continuing at The Royal Hotel and plans to open a new restaurant this autumn. A new World Heritage Site for Wales

The slate landscape of north-west Wales has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, making it the fourth World Heritage Site in Wales. The new World Heritage Site is a serial property in six parts including spectacular quarry landscapes such as Penrhyn, Dinorwig, the Nantlle Valley and Ffestiniog. It also includes the National Slate Museum in Llanberis, Penrhyn Castle and the famous Ffestiniog and Talyllyn Railways, built to transport the slate from quarry to markets around the world and both later transformed through the dedication of volunteers into heritage railways. A new ticketing system is set to be launched to make bus travel easier in North Wales

From Saturday (July 17) one ticket will be valid on buses all across the region. Once passengers have bought their “1bws” ticket from the driver on their first journey of the day, the ticket will then be valid for travel on buses throughout the area. An adult ticket will cost ÂŁ5.70, a child (or young person with a My Travel Pass) will pay ÂŁ3.70 and holders of English and Scottish concessionary bus passes will also pay ÂŁ3.70. A family ticket is available for just ÂŁ12. Welsh Government announces three-pronged approach to address “second homes crisis”

The three-pronged approach will focus on: support – addressing affordability and availability of housing,regulatory framework and system – covering planning law and the introduction of a statutory registration scheme for holiday accommodation; anda fairer contribution – using national and local taxation systems to ensure second home owners make a fair and effective contribution to the communities in which they buy. Welsh micro distillery goes Transatlantic

One of the most celebrated craft producers in the UK, the Dyfi Distillery in Corris, has secured a prestigious export contract to the USA. The distillery has partnered with Broadbent Selections, one of the finest American wine and spirits importers, and created a Dyfi Gin blend especially for them. Much like the distillery’s iconic Pollination bottling, it is a Dovey Native Botanical Gin, based on a complex formulation of indigenous flowers, leaves, berries and conifers.
