North Wales Tourism manages 2 Tourist Information Centres (TICs) on behalf of Denbighshire County Council (DCC) and includes the following activity:
- Day to day and financial management of two Centres on behalf of Denbighshire County Council
- Responsibility for retail sales including researching and introducing new lines
- Increasing the level of ticket sales transportation; events; attractions
- Developing social media and e-marketing promotional opportunities
- Organising customer care, new media and other staff training as required
- Employment of staff
- Financial management
- Health and Safety
- Provision of year-end reports
The services provided at both Centres include:
- Servicing enquiries – visitors to the Centres; emails; telephone calls and letters by providing detailed information
- Booking accommodation within their local area, pan-Wales and over the border through working with other TICs
- Selling literature e.g. guides; books; maps etc. and merchandise
- Selling tickets – events; theatre; coach tours; visitor attractions
- Llangollen TIC – Servicing the art and ceramic gallery and proactively selling the products
- Staff at both Centres actively promote their areas including events and special offers etc. via social media platform, for which they have received specific training
- Working closely with local businesses within their communities
- Attending local Tourism Association/Chamber of Trade meetings
- Llangollen TIC – working with the AONB and event organisers
- Rhyl TIC – working with local event organisers
- Rhyl TIC – undertake work on behalf of Denbighshire County Council staff
