The UK Government has published its response to the consultation on ‘Improving the energy performance of privately rented homes: 2025 update’. The consultation proposes raising the minimum energy efficiency standard for privately rented homes in England and Wales to EPC C by 2030. Following the review, the Government has confirmed that short term lets will not be included in the PRS MEES regulations at this stage, with further engagement needed before any future consideration.
