Inquiry to consider Designation Order for Glyndลตr National Park

Following the submission of a Designation Order by Natural Resources Wales (NRW), Welsh Government have announced their plans to appoint Planning and Environment Decisions Wales (PEDW) to hold a public local inquiry to consider the representations and objections made in connection with the creation of the new Glyndลตr National Park. Statutory Sick Pay Changes

On 6 April, significant changes to the Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) regime will come into effect.  Key changes Statutory Sick Pay will be available to all eligible employees regardless of their earnings (the Lower Earnings Limit is being removed). Statutory Sick Pay will be payable from the first full day of sickness absence (the three-day waiting period is being removed). Wales to create new standards for holiday accommodation

The Senedd has passed a Bill to support the development of tourism in Wales and improve visitor accommodation. Providers of visitor accommodation โ€“ beginning with self-contained, self-catering accommodation like holiday cottages and flats โ€“ will need a licence. To get a licence, providers will need to prove their accommodation is fit for visitors, by showing they have gas and electrical safety certificates, carbon monoxide alarms, public liability insurance, and that they have both conducted a fire safety risk assessment and taken relevant precautions. From autumn 2026, if you take bookings for overnight stays in Wales, youโ€™ll need to register with the Welsh Revenue Authority by law. It applies to anyone who takes bookings for overnight stays in Wales, from informal hosts letting out a spare room for one night to professional year-round providers.
