Wales Tourism Alliance, which North Wales Tourism are a member of have produced a questionnaire to gather invaluable information to help with discussions and lobbying of the Welsh Government. The UK Government has launched a quick consultation on its proposal to relax licensing hours for the King’s coronation next year. The proposal will extend opening hours from 11pm to 1am on Friday 5 May, Saturday 6 May and Sunday 7 May, ending on Monday 8 May 2023, for the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises and the provision of regulated entertainment in licensed premises in England and Wales. The consultation closes on 23 January 2023.
After over a year of negotiations with PPL /PRS. Thanks to PASC UK, the ASSC (Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers), The English Tourism Alliance and UK Hospitality have managed to negotiate some significant changes to the discretionary exemptions. The bar has been raised to exempt any business with three or less properties of any size on a single site. This will take well over 90% of all self-caterers out of having to pay for this licence.
