Findings of the Wales Tourism Business COVID-19 Barometer published today show that although Wales has had a busy few weeks in welcoming guests, an extended period of staycations through the autumn is needed to boost business. The Barometer results indicate that 78% of businesses are open with 51% of those open operating at full capacity. Whilst 80% of open self-catering businesses are fully open 43% of serviced accommodation is fully open and that is lower for attractions, hostels and activity providers. After reviewing the emergency measures put in place at Pen-y-Pass with its partners, Snowdonia National Park Authority are now piloting a pre-booking system at Pen-y-Pass car park on weekends for the remainder of the summer. Access to the car park will be reserved for pre-bookings only and must be pre-booked via the Snowdonia National Park website, parking will be on a first come first serve basis. Anyone who hasn’t pre-booked their parking space should use the Park and Ride service from Nant Peris or Llanberis.
