Alert level 0: guidance for employers, businesses and organisations

What businesses, employers, organisations, activity and events organisers in Wales must do at alert level 0. Below is a summary of what this means for Tourism & Hospitality at alert level zero:   All businesses and premises will be able to reopen, including nightclubs.No legal limits on the number of people who can meet, including in private homes, public places or at events.No legal requirement for 2m social distancing, table service or controlled entry and instead these are now some of the reasonable measures that a business should consider.Collecting details for Test, Trace, Protect in all businesses will also no longer be required by law and is instead a reasonable measure that should be considered […]

Wales moves to alert level zero

At alert level zero, all restrictions on meeting with others will be removed and all businesses will be able to open. But some important protections will continue to be in place to give everyone the confidence to enjoy the summer ahead. These include: Everyone must continue to isolate for 10 days if they have Covid-19 symptoms or if they have a positive test result.Face coverings will continue to be required in most indoor public places in Wales, including on public transport, in shops and in healthcare settings. Changes to self-isolation for fully-vaccinated adults

All adults who have been fully-vaccinated will no longer have to self-isolate if they are identified as close contacts of someone with coronavirus from 7 August. Children and young people under 18 will also be exempt from the need to self-isolate if they are also identified as close contacts of a positive case.   But everyone who tests positive for coronavirus or has symptoms must continue to isolate for 10 days, whether they have been vaccinated or not.   https://gov.wales/changes-self-isolation-fully-vaccinated-adults 

A new World Heritage Site for Wales

The slate landscape of north-west Wales has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, making it the fourth World Heritage Site in Wales. The new World Heritage Site is a serial property in six parts including spectacular quarry landscapes such as Penrhyn, Dinorwig, the Nantlle Valley and Ffestiniog. It also includes the National Slate Museum in Llanberis, Penrhyn Castle and the famous Ffestiniog and Talyllyn Railways, built to transport the slate from quarry to markets around the world and both later transformed through the dedication of volunteers into heritage railways. COVID-19 Economic Resilience Fund (ERF) Business Support

APPLICATIONS FOR THE ERF WITH A TURNOVER OF LESS THAN £85K OPENS AT 12 NOON TODAYTHE SCHEME WILL CLOSE AT MIDDAY ON MONDAY 9TH AUGUST. The Welsh Government has announced further emergency support until 31 August 2021 for businesses that remain closed or severely impacted by restrictions shown via a greater than 60% impact on turnover compared to the corresponding timeline in 2019 or equivalent. The grants will help meet operating costs (excluding staff wages) for the period 1 July 2021 to 31 August 2021.
