Covid-19 and Non-Domestic Rates Relief for Businesses in 2021-22

All retail, leisure and hospitality businesses occupying properties with a rateable value of up to £500,000 will receive 100% non-domestic rates relief for the duration of 2021-22. This enhanced retail, leisure and hospitality relief scheme, in combination with WG existing Small Business Rates Relief scheme, will ensure that over 70,000 businesses in Wales will pay no rates at all in 2021-22. National Form and Value report into UK Self-Catering

The Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC) and the Professional Association of Self-Caterers UK (PASC UK) have commissioned Frontline Consultants to carry out an Economic Impact Assessment of the Self-Catering Industry in the UK. Wales Grant Survey

PASC UK have put together a Wales Grant Survey to try to understand how many self catering businesses have received which Grants, and how many have not. The information provided will allow a comparison between the countries of the UK and by Wales Local Authority. Town Centres in Wales to benefit from £15.2 million placemaking fund

Business rates holiday extended for 12 months

The rates holiday for the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors in Wales will be extended for a further 12 months. The £380m package provides retail, leisure and hospitality businesses with rateable values up to £500k, and charities in Wales with a straightforward year-long business rates holiday – going beyond what has been announced in England – providing a much-needed boost for small and medium sized businesses struggling to cope with the impacts of the pandemic. https://gov.wales/business-rates-holiday-extended-12-months

Recovery Loan Scheme

A new loan scheme to support access to finance for UK business as they grow and recover from the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Recovery Loan Scheme ensures businesses of any size can continue to access loans and other kinds of finance up to £10 million per business once the existing COVID-19 loan schemes close, providing support as businesses recover and grow following the disruption of the pandemic and the end of the transition period. Once received, the finance can be used for any legitimate business purpose, including growth and investment.
