Re-opening of self-contained holiday accommodation

Options for reopening and a final decision will be made at the next review of the regulations on 25 March. Bookings can be made for stays from 27 March, but this is at people’s own risk and they should check with the accommodation provider before they book. Restrictions Business Fund – Non-Domestic Rates (NDR) Linked Grants

Following the First Minister’s announcement on 12 March, two new Non Domestic Rate linked grants are being introduced: The additional support will help businesses in the hospitality, tourism, leisure and non-essential retail sectors that pay non-domestic rates and will operate as a top up to the Restrictions Business Fund.This will see an eligible business with a rateable value of £12,000 or less receive an extra £4,000 grant payment.Firms with a rateable value of between £12,001 and £500,000 will receive £5,000.The funding, which will help businesses with their costs up to 31 March 2021, will be available to firms regardless of the number of employees and ensures micro businesses benefit from […]

The “stay at home” rule is replaced by “stay local” guidance from tomorrow. The new stay local rule will mean people can leave their homes and travel within their local area – usually within 5 miles. Local outdoor sports facilities will also be opened. The 5-mile rule of thumb will be set out in guidance – people living in some parts of Wales, especially rural areas, may need to travel further than 5 miles to access shops and other public services. Covid-19 and Non-Domestic Rates Relief for Businesses in 2021-22

All retail, leisure and hospitality businesses occupying properties with a rateable value of up to £500,000 will receive 100% non-domestic rates relief for the duration of 2021-22. This enhanced retail, leisure and hospitality relief scheme, in combination with WG existing Small Business Rates Relief scheme, will ensure that over 70,000 businesses in Wales will pay no rates at all in 2021-22. Businesses in the leisure and hospitality sectors with a rateable value of over £500,000 will also received 100% rates relief for 2021‑22, recognising the acute impact the pandemic has had on these sectors. Business rates holiday extended for 12 months

The rates holiday for the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors in Wales will be extended for a further 12 months. The £380m package provides retail, leisure and hospitality businesses with rateable values up to £500k, and charities in Wales with a straightforward year-long business rates holiday – going beyond what has been announced in England – providing a much-needed boost for small and medium sized businesses struggling to cope with the impacts of the pandemic. https://gov.wales/business-rates-holiday-extended-12-months
