Isle of Anglesey County Council is considering introducing a visitor levy for all eligible holiday accommodation and overnight stays as specified in the Visitor Accommodation (Register and Levy) Etc (Wales) Act 2025 within the local authority area from 1 October 2027. The latest State of the Nation report is out now, giving insights for April 2026 including the impact of global drivers on tourism. The report shows that overall, inbound flight bookings remain below 2025 levels, in particular from the Middle East and India. The Gwynedd Events Development Fund 2026/27 is now open for applications. The purpose of the fund is to support event organisers to deliver sustainable events that create a buzz in our communities and contribute to a responsible visitor economy for the benefit of people, the environment, the Welsh language and culture of Gwynedd. The fund is open to events taking place in Gwynedd between 1 April 2026 and 5 March 2027, and offers grants of up to £5,000 to support capital and revenue costs. The closing date for applications is 12pm on 15 May 2026.
