Gwynedd Visitor Levy Consultation

Following a decision by Cyngor Gwynedd’s Full Council meeting on 14 May 2026, Cyngor Gwynedd is moving forward to consult on the possibility of introducing a Visitor Levy in the county. To have your say a public consultation on a possible Visitor Levy as been launched and the Council would like to hear the views of residents, businesses and visitors. Temporary reduced rate of VAT for children’s meals, tickets and family attractions

The VAT rate on eligible activities will be cut from 20% to 5% and applies across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The reduced rate will apply from 25 June 2026 to 1 September 2026 (inclusive). Isle of Anglesey Visitor Levy Consultation

Isle of Anglesey County Council is considering introducing a visitor levy for all eligible holiday accommodation and overnight stays as specified in the Visitor Accommodation (Register and Levy) Etc (Wales) Act 2025 within the local authority area from 1 October 2027. Isle of Anglesey County Council understands that the introduction of such a levy brings with it both positives and negatives, and these need to be fully understood to enable a decision on the introduction of the levy. The latest State of the Nation report is out now, giving insights for April 2026 including the impact of global drivers on tourism. The report shows that overall, inbound flight bookings remain below 2025 levels, in particular from the Middle East and India. Gwynedd Events Development Fund 2026/27

The Gwynedd Events Development Fund 2026/27 is now open for applications. The purpose of the fund is to support event organisers to deliver sustainable events that create a buzz in our communities and contribute to a responsible visitor economy for the benefit of people, the environment, the Welsh language and culture of Gwynedd. The fund is open to events taking place in Gwynedd between 1 April 2026 and 5 March 2027, and offers grants of up to £5,000 to support capital and revenue costs. The closing date for applications is 12pm on 15 May 2026. Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) littered packaging waste consultation Wales
