5th Jan 2021 The Chancellor has announced £4.6 billion new lockdown grants to support businesses and protect jobs. For English businesses -Business Rated Properties Up to £15,000 RV = £4000£15001 – £51000 RV = £6000£51001 + = £9000 The Welsh Government will receive £227 million. To support businesses hit by the latest restrictions the government will today announce a further £110m in funding. Hospitality, non-essential retail, tourism, leisure and supply chain businesses will be eligible for the financial assistance.The funding is in addition to the £340m support for businesses which the Welsh Government announced at the end of November. The money will pay grants to hospitality and non-essential shops through the business rates system.Tourism, leisure and supply chain businesses will be eligible for the same support if turnover has fallen by 40% or more.
