FM has confirmed there will be no changes to coronavirus rules following the latest 21-day review. Wales will remain at alert level zero, which means all businesses are able to open and trade. And the Covid Pass will not be extended to hospitality settings in this 3-week cycle. Visit Wales have announced that there will be no charge for participation in their star quality grading scheme for accommodation and visitor attraction businesses for the foreseeable future (apart from where the costs for overnight grading visits and entry fees, use of food and drink outlets, etc. for tourist attraction assessments will need to be covered by the business). NORTH WALES’S largest tourist attraction – the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highlands Railways, is celebrating after securing £3.1 million from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The £3,144,000 investment will boost the railways’ plans to attract more visitors by providing “a high-quality tourism experience”, and work, training and volunteering opportunities for the community of Porthmadog. It will also fund the restoration and conservation of buildings including the Boston Lodge Works which is in the Guinness Book of Records as the ‘oldest railway workshop in continuous operation’.
