A commission for 300 of the finest welsh slate coasters to be produced for a nomination exhibition for the UNESCO Slate Landscape Heritage bid at Westminster this week. Inigo Jones are proud to support the nomination, as the slate industry is an iconic feature of North Wales, and it’s products have literally ‘roofed the nineteenth century world’. As an application was made to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport in Westminster back in 2010 for the industry to be included on the UK’s list of tentative World Heritage Sites to be submitted to UNESCO. North Wales Tourism member and North Wales’ newest luxury accommodation, Caer Rhun Hall, a three-storey, late-Victorian mansion with a private house atmosphere, opens to the public on 8 August.    The Grade II listed building was acquired two years ago and has undergone an extensive, multi-million pound refurbishment, creating 32 bedrooms in exclusive surroundings. What a beautiful day it was to be beside the seaside; a bucket and a spade for the creation of a sandcastle or two. These props were used by Chris Dearden BBC Wales reporter on Colwyn Bay beach at 8am yesterday morning. It was a radio broadcast, so I guess the listeners had to take our word that two grown men really were building sandcastles on the beach, but at least it made the sound effects more authentic. Green light for adventure glamping lodges

The Slate Caverns at Llechwedd, Snowdonia, is set to launch a unique, luxury adventure glamping site featuring six safari-style glamping lodges. Planning permission has been granted by Gwynedd Council and construction of all six glamping tents is well underway, with the first these expected to be completed in a matter of weeks.  The glamping lodges will welcome their first guests from June 2018. The five-star accommodation will be located on a hillside above The Slate Caverns adventure hub. Wales Tourism Week 12-20 May 2018 The theme of this year’s Wales Tourism Week is ‘Collaborating to Compete’ which aims to highlight the power of partnerships across the industry. Co-ordinated by the Wales Tourism Alliance (WTA), there will be a series of events throughout the week held by the industry to highlight how different enterprises within sectors co-operate, provide excellent self-employment and career opportunities as well as customer service excellence.
