The way Alcohol Duty is charged will change from 1 August 2023, moving to standardised tax bands for all alcoholic products based on alcohol by volume (ABV), with new duty rates and reliefs, including a Small Producer Relief. The findings on the public consultation about how a licensing scheme could work in Wales has been published today by the Welsh Government. The consultation closed on 17 March with more than 1,500 responses with an independent analysis of the responses commissioned in April.
